The Rocky Mountain Dental Convention will be held on January 13 – 15 2011 at the Colorado Convention Center 700 14th Street Denver, CO 80202. RMDC is the largest continuing education event for dental professionals in the region. The RMDC 2010 had more than 8,500 attendees with over 1,700 dentists and boasted a record Expo Hall attendence of 10,556 visits. From dentists and hygienists to chairside assistants and staff, this is a must-attend event for anyone working in the dental profession.

Endodontic therapy depends on diagnostic radiographs and image-guided treatment. Periapical and panoramic radiography have been augmented by the recent introduction of high-resolution focused field cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). These advanced imaging modalities allow three-dimensional assessment of odontogenic and non-odontogenic lesions, root canal morphology,root and alveolar fractures, resorptive lesions and anatomy prior to surgery. This lecture will highlight the advantages of CBCT imaging in light of recent research demonstrating a significant increase in lesion visualization and associated anatomy when compared to two-dimensional radiography.
