These advanced imaging modalities allow three-dimensional assessment of odontogenic and non-odontogenic lesions, root canal morphology, root and alveolar fractures, resorptive lesions and anatomy prior to surgery. This lecture will highlight the advantages of CBCT imaging in light of recent research demonstrating a significant increase in lesion visualization and associated anatomy when compared to two-dimensional radiography.
